What to Expect

Here is what you can expect during your appointment with AVA Care:

1. Complete Paperwork

When you arrive you will be asked to complete several forms and sign documents regarding your care and privacy. You will also be asked to provide a copy of your photo ID. This is for the purpose of your privacy and the safety of your information.

2. Nurse Consultation

A nurse will meet with you to collect medical information and a urine specimen.

3. Meeting with a Client Advocate

While the nurse is performing your pregnancy test you will meet with a client advocate. In order to better serve you, she will talk with you about your situation and your concerns. During this time you are safe to talk freely. After discussing your situation confidentially, you are welcome to invite your partner, friend, or family member to join you.

4. Ultrasound

Depending on the medical assessment, you may be eligible for an ultrasound. There are three important questions that you need to have answered before making any decision regarding your pregnancy. The ultrasound can provide these answers:

  • Is the pregnancy located in the uterus?
  • How far along am I?
  • Is there a fetal heartbeat?

5. Check Out

At this time you will be asked to complete a short evaluation of your visit. Your feedback is important to us.
